Hollow screw heat exchanger
The hollow screw heat exchanger is used for specialized applications involving granular and pasty to medium-liquid products that need to be continuously cooled, heated, or dried. It is commonly applied in industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, aluminum, cement, and food.
The product to be treated is evenly conveyed and mixed by the intermeshing screws, with each particle repeatedly contacting the heat exchanger surfaces.
The screw trough can optionally be equipped with a gas extraction device and a double jacket to increase the heat exchanger surface. A new development in drive technology allows the screws to be individually driven by motors controlled by frequency converters.
